how much does sherman pay for credit card accounts that are 170-180 days late?? i sent settlement letter to OC DM will this hurt me with sherman now? I said i did not admit liability....not to be construed as an acknowledgment of my liability for the claims made by DM...in settlement letter???
Pink - forget about the settlement letter. It was an offer to DM, they don't own it anymore, you didn't admit liability. Sherman owns the acct now. If by some small chance they got the settlement letter, they *could* try to settle with you for that amount, but the offer wasn't made to them!
when sherman sends letter asking for payment will the balance be what DM charged off nothing more can it keep increasing???

You only now have to make sure they report your trade line as -0- balance transferred or sold. Sherman owns the account. No things won't be better for you. They are scum of the earth. They are not going to reduce the balance you owe, simply because they paid DM pennies on the dollar. They are in the business to make money. The difference between what they paid DM and what you pay them (they hope) is profit--plain and simple. Look at it like this: You are starting a whole new ballgame. They will either call you, or send you a letter soon. They want their money. Then you send out a demand for validation to them. Nothing more, nothing less. If and when they answer that validation request, come tell us what they sent. If you are not sure what validation is, I suggest you take the time now to read the faq's and do some searches on validation, so you understand it when the time comes. Will Sherman try and change the amount you owe. Again the are scum of the earth - highly likely. That is why you will request validation. Good luck! and quit driving yourself crazy
