What does this letter mean?

I sent a PFD letter to NCO Financial systems about 2 months ago. I hadn't heard anything back from them until today. I got a small postcard with this printed on it:

"Thank you for your recent inquiry. Please be advised that the above account is closed in our office. Also, please be advised that we have contacted the credit bureaus, with which we do business, with a request to delete our listing of the above-referenced account from the credit profile for the social security number we have listed in our records. NCO Financial Systems, Inc. cannot effect a change to how any other entity may have listed the account.
We appreciate the opportunity to respond to your inquiry."

I guess I am just confused to what exactly this letter means? So, they are deleting the listing without payment? Because I never sent them any money. Or they have sold it to another debt collector? How long should I wait to pull my credit report to see if it is gone?

Sounds to me like they've closed your account and requested that the CRAs delete their listing on your credit reports. I would wait 30 days or so and then pull your credit reports again to see if it's gone.
