One past auto loan that I paid in full shows closed in 1993. UNRATED. Here are my choices:

Leave it alone. Or delete it as out of date. Or request it be listed as paid never late.

What to do. I am rebuilding credit.

"UNRATED" means just that...you get NO benefit for the account.

Have it changed to "ACCOUNT CLOSED BY CONSUMER", NEVER LATE, BALANCE $0.

If they won't rate it like "R1" or "I1 or simiular code, DUMP IT.

I would request it to be updated to paid as agreed and a r1 status. Unrated neither helps or hurts.

Be sure you have no negatives associated with this account. You may be opening a can of worms.

You can only get revolving accounts marked as closed by consumers. Installment loans are not usually noted this way. She has to go for a I1 status.

Fully paid installment loans can be listed as CLOSED. That's the way an old truck loan is listed on my TU. On EFX, it's PAID ACCOUNT/ZERO BALANCE, while my EXP has it as PAID/NEVER LATE.
