What kind of effect do accounts that are "transferred/sold" have on your scores? These are the kinds of things that I call "clutter". I have a couple of "transferred/sold" on my EQ credit report, they are showing as an "I1" or just an "I" with a 0 balance. Will getting junk like this off have any impact on my scores?
Should be NO impact...GOOD or BAD... As long as it doesn't say anything about being late or over-limit or collection...
I agree. Wouldn't it be in the "Adverse Info" section of the CR? I have a transferred/sold in the positive section of mine.
George - Thanks. That is why I wondered - especially since they have ratings of I1 - I didn't think it would have a negative effect - the only thing is, when it is "transferred/sold" there has to be a reason - like, um, uh... I didn't pay my bill... Thanks again.
This is what theKim Hughes at Experian just told me. She said that some potential creditors might not like it so if you pull your report it will be listed under potentially derogatory items but that it's not really a neg unless you have lates on it. Of course when EXP changed my account from "paid/never late" to "transferred/sold" it lowered my score 24 points so obviously it is not as good as having the "paid/never late" notation but it's not a bad thing either. Javan - mine is in the positive section, too. It just makes you wonder, doesn't it? Well, since it is in the positive stuff, I may just leave it (I need all the positives I can get!!! Whether or not they "count"!)
I've had accounts sold & have never impacted me negatively;I don't understand how it would(unless you have late pays). It was always listed as paid/never late/account transferred or sold. Sister Girl
You can't you help whom assumes acquisiton of your account (you can always CANCEL your account due to the change). Sister Girl
