hey all, what if I sent a validation request to an address for the ca in my state that I found surfing the net?Am I required to send the request to their disclosed address for disputes to get them on the hook?. I have waited long enogh for my return receipt! I find it hard to beleive it was lost in the mail. gilliner
gilliner, you can find the status of your certified mail via the internet through the US Postal Service's site. All you need is the tracking number on the receipt that you kept. Who was the OC and how long ago did you mail it?
they are none other than NCO FINACIAL SYSTEMS. I has been 17 days. What do you think about my question though? I will go to the usps website thanks gillier
gilliner, I would trace it first and see where it is. If you used the exact address that the CRA gave you then that is all you are required to do. By that, I mean the CRA is "required" to keep the correct contact information on the companies that report to them. Keep good notes. At this point, I would just be patient and wait for the 30 days to expire. Have you checked through the CRA to see if they've put a dispute notation on your report? If, for some reason, you get the letter back unopened, DON'T open it. Double check the correct address that the CRA gave you. If it's the same, file the letter away in the folder that you are keeping your records on this CA in. Here's a little trick I use. Patience has never been one of my virtues, so I get a fax number for the company and fax the information that I will be sending them certified. After I fax it, I get the fax journal for my records to prove that it went through and I fax that the the company so they see that I have "proof" that it went through. I try to second guess them. They think that they can just ignore the fax and say that it never came through. They can't after I fax them the fax journal sheet showing them that I have "proof' of the date and time it was received in their offices. Sometimes it's hard to get their fax numbers. They don't readliy give them out. I am not familiar with the company that you are referring to, but I am sure that it someone here is and can help with that part of it. If not, call them on the telephone and tell them that you need to send a copy of the check that you are about to mail them. Someone said they did that here on the board and they said it worked for them. A little sneaky, but it worked. Keller
Hey Keller, Here is what happened. Obviously I am new to all this. When I got my trans union report and printed it on the computer. there were no address's to contact anyone on it. I used an address that someone on creditnet said they used to get a deletion. I am not sure if it is the right address. what do you think? The listing has not been noted as disputed. Also, I don't think I can get delivery confirmation online because I didn't pay for that service. I guess I will have to send for the proof.
gilliner, that Blue Bell PA address is correct. Be patient...they will either respond or not...give them 30 days. If you have not disputed, you could do that now as well...that will give you contact info or get it deleted. If you have disputed, you could send out procedural request demands to the CRA's. That will (or should) give you an exact address, point of contact, and date for any verified listings you disputed. Meanwhile, let the NCO train ride on. I was impatient about NCO as well, but they sign the green cards at that address...trust me. -Peace, Dave
Thanks Nave, patient? I hate patient!!! lol It is actually too late. to be patient. Yesterday I Fed Exed A copy of the letter to a different address I found here in Ca. It was posted in the job listings of some news paper. after, I was reading the FCRA (623) I saw something mentioned about there being an address that they give to send disputes to. I hope I haven't made my situation more complicated. coments everyone gilliner
Hope I didn't cut you off Nave. I just did a quick search here and this is what I found. javan | 266 posts since Mar 2002 24.126.81.139 | 04.26.2002 @ 18:38 quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by troman4077 thanks...i did contact the cra and NCO for the fax number, the number that they gave me just rings and rings and rings some more thank you for the advice -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OK, just got home from work. The fax number I have is 1-215-793-2750. I sent a fax on 4/15/02 @ 9:15am(Pacific Time). Also, the address I used is: 507 Prudential Road Horsham, PA 19044. They signed for my CRRR's at this address: NCO Financial Systems, Inc. PO Box 8529 Philadelphia, PA 19101
Yes I probably do have a FAX# on the letter I got from their compliance department. I will have to get that to you tomorrow gillner, it is downtown. Meanwhile I thought you all would laugh, puke and get a kick outta this CRAP I found while searching the net for the FAX#: Chuck Piola, executive vice-president of sales for NCO Financial Systems, a $3.9-million collection agency in Blue Bell, Pa., drives a Mercedes but makes sure everyone knows his story. "Apologize for getting rich. Say, 'Listen, I'm uneasy with something. I've worked hard, and I want to reward myself.' " Piola also lends out his Benz occasionally; that, he says, forestalls resentment. But Piola may be blind. Joe McGowan, NCO's vice-president of operations, says, "Come raise time, employees see that success and want a piece of it. All they deal with is perception." Yeah HARD WORK...I BET...if you think vultures have it hard waiting for carrion to scavange, then I guess it is HARD WORK! -Peace, Dave
BTW they have many offices...all I know is they signed my CRRR and sent me notice from compliance department from that address. I am certain there are other addresses for NCO. -Peace, Dave
nave, that was quite an entertaining quote there thanks for lightening things up. so no one has answered my concerns however. What about the Fedex I sent them. does that put them on the hook to validate. should I fax them a validation request? should I send another crrr to the disclosed address? should I take a vallium and relax? regards, gilliner
gilliner, YES. I would most definintely fax the letter. Remember to get the fax journal and fax that them afterwards, as well. Of course, this is just my opinion. I lack patience too, so I can sympathize with you. LOL When I have gotten more information on a company whose account I am working on, I go ahead and use that information immediately. I don't see how it could hurt. My intnention is to create the utmost sense of urgency I possibly can. LKH, Nave, you want to comment on this for gilliner? Ya'll are the "CREDITNEXPERTS" here. Keller
keller, thank you for the input. My bed is calling me now so see ya later. Graveyard for the rest of my life! what a sentence! see ya later gilliner
Hey guys, I just got in to work. But, before work, I used the fax # that nave provided. I faxed a letter telling them I was requesting validation and I had already sent letters to two address one crrr and the other fedex (signed for today) along with a copy of the validation letter. Oh yeh, I also faxed a copy of the successful fax journal afterward. also sent out a dispute letter to cra after. I know I am a little compulsive but I hate these guys. Still no return receipt though. Okay ill be patient now. but espopel goes out when? 30 days after I sent the crrr?, fedex?, fax? see ya later, gilliner (Mr. overkill)
gilliner, Estoppel letter should go out 31 days after the earliest signature you receive back (whether it is the CRRR, FedEx, Fax) if you receive no validation, or a joke of an attempt at one.
GILLINER, IMHO, YOU DID GREAT! DON'T FEEL BAD FOR BEING RELENTLESS. THEY DON'T! REMEMBER, KEEP THE PRESSURE ON THEM. . .DON'T LET UP. . .THAT'S THE KEY. DON'T GIVE THEM TIME TO BREATHE. THAT'S WHY YOU KEEP GOOD RECORDS. KEEPING THE TIMELINE "TIGHT" IS ONE OF YOUR TACTICS. KEEP ME POSTED. KELLER
