The law does not require you to provide such information it only requires that the CA must validate or cease collection activities. 2*In the first place it's not a reasonable request for a CA to demand something from you that the law does not require of you. Re: Re: SSN info to CA? hI rICH, i ASSUME YOU MEAN AN ITEM WHICH WAS DELETED AS A RESULT OF A DISPUTE. The notification requirement doesn't apply to information which just "dis-appears" for 6 months and then "re-appears". Important distinction. .
