I am shopping around for the best card and would like some advice. I would like to get a good begining credit line. None of them $1500 starting line ones. Has anyone had any experiance with Citibank? What kind of credit limits do they give out and how is their service. Thanks!! Scores via Privacy Guard TU 697 EXP 601 (this one doesn't seem to ever move) EQ 652
You will find your credit lines are very highly tied to your income as reported. Use household income to your advantage. I've gotten as high as $14K at once with citi, currently i have a citi $25K platinum select, citiusa travelocity world $5K, and a quickencard personal $14K. I don't really use them except for the platinum select 2.9% for life BT. They aren't terribly competitive. Amex was difficult for me (scores in low-mid 700's) for credit lines but i have about $50K biz, and $20K personal. mbna about $25K personal, very pita to get cards from them. I'd have to say Citibank is your best bet, and you're income, residency, even type of car you own, better back up that good credit score to get a high line. It took about 2 years to get a new $14K citi line, had a bunch of $4-6K citi cards combined into that platinum select due to BDD.
