I am looking for a good rebuilder card to show recent activity and rebuild after a bad period in the past. trouble is I have already mostlikely worn out my welcome with the likes of Providian, Orchard, Direct Merchants, Centenial and First Premier. Are there any others out there? I know I am going to end up with a card which will probably charge me $200 in rediculous fees up front to absorb much of the credit limit they give me. But One has to pay to play so this is secondary to me over getting a new card to start reporting a payment history. I botched up the aforementioned cards years ago. some are still on file as write offs. others aren't but I would assume they would still have my SSN flagged internally so whats the point. Please advise as I need one or two of these bloodsucker cards to start the game over again and hopefully do it right this time. thanks!
check out NanaC's post on approvals post BK. You don't have a BK that you mentioned, but there's still a good list of subprime lenders. Good luck to you Poochie
I don't know your circumstances (BK? charge offs?) but here are three (secured) credit cards which have helped me post-bankruptcy: Fleet: 1-800-492-2500 Bank of Louisiana: 1-504-889-9305 Emigrant (1st Natl Bank of Omaha): 1-888-364-4726 American Pacific Bank: 1-503-445-1550 www.apbank.com My BK was discharged successfully and I was able to get credit with these companies. Look into it.
How picky are you? Want something fast? Try www.aspirevisa.com. I think thats it, Aspire visa. 100$ yearly membership, 5-6$ monthly service charge (they will reduce the yearly to 70$ if you call and threaten to close account). They start you with a 300$ limit of which they charge the 1st year member fee and to use the card you send them 20$ when you get the card. They are reporting to all 3 bureaus for me over the last year. SnakeMan
Re: what is a good rebuilder subpri Anybody know anything about the Capitol One Platinum Secured MC? Do they report as secured?
Re: what is a good rebuilder subpri I don't understand why ANYONE would want to pay a $100 (or more) annual fee. Aspire is just bottom of the barrel...leeches...stay away! Same goes for Premier & Cross Country. Try any of the banks I listed. All have annual fees < $51. Bank of Lousiana, Fleet, American Pacific Bank, Merrick, Trustco, HSBC, Emigrant Bank, Amalgamated....those are secured card companies which will accept you and treat you right. Good luck!
Re: Re: what is a good rebuilder subpri Bottom of the barrel? I happen to feel fortunate to have had the opportunity re-establish my credit with ANYONE who would give me a chance. Aspire Visa has been good to me. They gave me a 300$ credit limit a year and a half ago with a score of 601. After 6 months with a score of 595.....they increased my limit to 1000$ and knocked the annual fee to just 49$ a year. Monthly service charge went away. Hmmmmpfff SnakeMan
Re: Re: what is a good rebuilder subpri Well snakey...er, snakeman (gotta love that name....just GOTTA love IT...) I did a lil check on Aspire before evaluating other credit offers. Here is what I found: http://www.atlanta.bbb.org/commonreport.html?compid=16000361 (that is from the BBB.org website, you may have to search on "Apsire Visa" in Atlanta, GA to get the same results) http://www.google.com/search?as_q=&...s_occt=any&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=&safe=images (that is from Google.com) Now with THAT in mind, whatcha think of your beloved Aspire Visa company? HUH!? Still love them? I love companies who scr*w others over too......
