Hello all, I have a friend who was sued by Citibank for failure to pay a corporate Diner's Club card. They worked with a mediator and supposedly settled out of court in exchange for making payments on the account each month to Citibank's attorneys. She then got a letter in the mail which basically said the judgement had been awarded to Citibank by default, but that "execution was stayed pending defendent paying plaintiff xx dollars per month until payed". What does "stayed" mean? Does this mean the judgement is in limbo and will only be official if the agreement is not kept? Can credit bureaus find this type of record?
"Stayed" means they won't push for the lump sum as long as the regular payments are received. Check at the courthouse to see if it has been filed.
