Re: Re: MAJOR TROLL! DID I CATCH U? I've just been contacted by attorneys for 2 CA's I sued/settled with. They want immediate refunds because the CRA investigation of credit repairers proves that we entrapped them into breaking the law. If I don't pay within 5 days they will have criminal charges filed. I told them I was just doing what you all told me so guess who's going to be getting some phone calls?! 0
Re: Re: Re: MAJOR TROLL! DID I CATCH U? YOU HAVE NO CONTRACT WITH ANY CA!!! YOU APPLIED FOR NO CREDIT EVER WITH ANY CA!!! TALK TO THE HAND!!!
Re: Re: Re: MAJOR TROLL! DID I CATCH U? George you are a guppy and you have been successfully trolled. Doc
What is a troll, what is a sniper? Virtual Snipers --------------- In the "Too much time on their hands" category... I've been seeing a lot of "sniper" posts lately. Specifically, people taking shots at well known people or companies based on flimsy or non-existent evidence of any kind of actual wrongdoing. There are some interesting things these attacks usually have in common: > They're based on personal peeves or preferences. > They're rabid and/or hysterical in tone. > They involve small groups who harp on the same PEOPLE at every opportunity. (Not issues... people.) > They are normally short on fact and long on conspiracy or character assassination. The biggest sign of this kind of spitefulness is easy to spot: Ask for proof. If the response is an attack on you, or more drooling paranoia that ignores the minor question of facts, you're probably dealing with a "sniper." Snipers come in many varieties. Some become outraged over a perceived injustice and, with no regard for reality, determine to save the world from "The Evil Ones," ignoring anything that conflicts with their preconceptions. Including the aforementioned "facts." Others feel that they've been wronged, and turn a simple customer service issue or personal conflict into a vendetta. (We in the trade have a name for this kind of sniper: Creeps.) There are others, but these are the most common. They exist in greater numbers online than off, because they can more easily avoid getting sued or slapped silly (too late!) when hiding behind their monitors. In the past week, I've seen outright lies, innuendo, leading questions, distortions, multiple anonymous posts (intended to make it look like there are more people involved than there are) and several other, less "serious," examples of petty vindictiveness or malice. Ignoring it just means you could be next. There's a simple way to clean up this nonsense, folks: Ask for evidence. Don't take negative claims as truth without requiring proof. If the person making the claim can't provide proof, call them on it. In the same forum in which the accusation (direct or implied) was made. Sometimes it's just people overreacting. Sometimes it's an innocent misunderstanding. And sometimes it's a sniper. Snipers don't like the light. Neither do cockroaches. Just Friggin' Spamtastic! ---- From an article by Paul Myers who is a noted publisher and commentator on internet forums and issues.
MAJOR TROLL! DID I CATCH U? dl, I am so trying not to sound stupid. But is there some truth to your shutting down comment?
MAJOR TROLL! DID I CATCH U? The only ounce of truth in this thread was around the first few posts describing a troll. Anything else, just pretty much consider a belated April fools.
Re: MAJOR TROLL! DID I CATCH U? No truth to it at all -- but a perfect example of how easy it is to spread misinformation and to stir up trouble. I'll bet I could start a new thread, repost the same nonsense and have everyone here at each other's throats by noon. All this even AFTER I've said here that it's all BS. That's how easy it is to cause trouble. The ONLY thing that the users here can do is to ignore trolls. The minute you give in to the temptation to hit the reply button you become part of the problem. I got caught myself last week with that "I rebuilt my credit after BK in 15 minutes without ever sending any disputes" guy. It's easy to fall into the trap.
Re: Re: Re: MAJOR TROLL! DID I CATCH U? OK, someone asked what a troll was. Several people gave definitions. Then Dave started a troll like thread, and was given a little "encouragement" to continue. A couple of people fell for it. With the exception of the original question, and the first few responses, this whole thread was a joke, but one that made a point about what a troll tries to do, and how they do it, and how easy it is to believe them.
Re: Re: Re: MAJOR TROLL! DID I CATCH U? Of course, it's also possible that Dave was serious, and JLynn is being trollish by attempting to deflect the discussion. Isn't it?
Re: Re: Re: MAJOR TROLL! DID I CATCH U? And then it is also possible that some are not really trolls at all but rather only snipers as I outlined in an earlier post. The major problem most snipers have is that they failed to learn the most vital lessons of being a sniper. For instance some have not learned in which direction they should aim their weapons and so end up shooting themselves in the foot.
Re: Re: MAJOR TROLL! DID I CATCH U? I'm new here. Wouldn't you rather know something about those you are talking to? Mycroft ======================= NO humblemarc Thinks that's egotistical. He just got on my case for this very thing. He would rather hire a contractor without references than one with them because giving references is arrogant. The END ************************* LB 59
Re: Re: MAJOR TROLL! DID I CATCH U? You mean only FICO or the elusive Mipmip could have more "arrogane."
