It's my belief that a phone bill is not credit so it doesn't show up on your credit report. If you look closely at your bill, you'll notice that you pay for services in advance so they don't really extend you any credit. I do wonder why electric and gas companies don't report. Anyone know?
Houstonguy, you got me baffled. I have Southwestern Bell on my credit report. So what are you saying exactly.
You have it on your credit report? I also have Southwestern Bell but they're not on any of my reports. What I'm saying is that the phone company, like the cable company, charges you for services in advance. Thus, they're not extending you credit.
It occurs to me that I'm in Texas. Each state sets there own regs for how a phone company bills. What state are you in?
To be "politically" correct it should be called a debt/credit report. Actually even credit cards are a misnomer...semantically correct, they would be debt cards not credit cards because you are extended debt, not credit. HOWEVER, once you default on telephone bill, it becomes a past due debt...if you do not pay, they may sell your "bad" debt to a CA, or continue to collect in-house, but either way, it can and most likely WILL show up on your credit report. If you pay ona time...no show up. -Peace, Dave
its a old bill but I was tring to find out the sol on it and not sure wat catagorey it would fall under, im in ca
Oh yeah back to the point of the thread LOL I believe it would fall under the SOL's of an open-ended contract, but I am not completely positive. -Peace, Dave
NONE OF THESE ARE ON MY REPORTS... Cellphone "Home" phone Directv @ Home cable Sewer Gas Electric Trash Longdistance
That is because you pay your bills on time. If you stop paying that's when you see how big your report truly can be. -Peace, Dave
