I have a fraudulent collection for a sprint bill that appears on my credit report. I never received any notices and when I called to inquire, it was apparently opened by somebody on my street a few doors down. How difficult will this be to remove from my credit? What is the best method? My credit is otherwise perfect. Thanks in advance!!

If the account is opened in your name with your information, a police report should be filed. You should dispute the account as not yours, or fraud on your credit report.

File an id theft police report and fill out ftc id affidavit.Send copy of this to the furnisher of info for the account & to the credit bureaus. It would also be a very good idea to put the initial fraud alerts in each credit bureau.
