What is Experian doing with liens?

    Scenario:

    1) I have 2 paid tax liens on my report.
    2) Somewhere between 4/24/02 and 4/30/02 Experian duplicated one of the liens - same date filed, same amount, id number slightly modified.
    3) On 4/30 [TUESDAY] I called Experian and asked them to delete the duplicate. Rep said they would have to verify with the county - couldn't take my word for it or actually look to see the data was clearly duplicated.
    4) Since he put what I called the duplicate into investigation status - I figured I'd online dispute the other two (these liens don't belong on my report - but thats another issue.)
    5) I check on 5/4/02 [SATURDAY]- They are all still in dispute status.
    6) Today, 5/5/02 [SUNDAY] - They are all showing as verified and remaining unchanged!

How in the world can Experian verify liens that quickly? - and with a government office on a weekend?

How the heck can they verify the totally bogus computer glitch generated 3rd lien?

I've actually had fairly pleasant dealing with Experian so far. I guess the honeymoon is over.

    ANY suggestions, comments, appreciated.

    Thanks,

    T

    Ask for a procedure request.

Tell them you want to know what procedure they used to verify the liens. There is a letter under the sample letter section and modify it to your needs.

I asked for an the procedure request earlier. I got a bogus form letter. I talked to the county - EX apparently buys a daily microfiche.

I called EX again - this time an intelligent huma answered, saw it was a duplicate, and agreed to delete it. When I checked on line - instaed of being deleted, IT WAS IN INVESTIGATION again!

I'll see how this plays out.

    Thanks
