I had paid off a debt that was over 5 years old (My screw up) with the promise that they would remove it, I didn't get that in writing(Again my bad). It was an old electric bill $325 .NCO financial was the CA. well they won't remove it and it is only on my experian but its killing me. They changed i to a zero balance. ...I don't know what to do at this point. Would sending a validation letter do anything at this point. I did a check over the phone .. I didn't sign anything. Please help.
I'd like to know where to find the nutcase letter too...it was referred to as being in the Creditnet FAQ, but the link to that appears to be broken...
Do I send this letter to the CA or OC or both....I was a little confused about the header "Name of Old Fully-Paid Acquaintance" Im assuming that this is the OC.
....you know, i had a similar problem with NCO... they LOVE experian, and, in my experience, experian holds onto the negatives the longest.... however, after launching and investigation and experian validating it, i gave up (this was pre-credit net)... a few months later it **fell** off, even though it should have stayed on for a few more years....
