The reason I ask is because I paid of my Sears card and closed the account back in January of 2002. I noticed today on my credit report that the Last Reported date is 9/2003. Does that reage the account??
Date of your last payment does NOT have to be the last date they update I have accounts that are STILL updated 4 or 5 years later
Last Reported is just the last time that the OC still had your account on their systems and sent a data file VIA tape to the CRAs. You need to look on your credit report for DOLA (Date of Last Activity) which would be the last date that your account was active and being paid on. This DOLA should be the date that the 7 year reporting clock is started by. The reporting clock is up to 180 days after the first missed payment that led to the delinquancy that resulted in charge off plus 7 years. Also if it was just an account with bad notations on it, but wasn't charged off, and eventually was paid off, the DOLA should be the date that the account was closed by the consumer, plus 7 years for reporting. That would not give the 180 days added to the 7 year reporting cycle. ChrisB
Concerning the date of last activity ?? On one of my creditors the trade line shows N/A for last activity date. Is that prper ? I see nothing that shows 1997 which was when this account was last touched by me. let me know
Re: Re: What is reaging an account? Is this a bad tradeline??????? How can the date of last activity be not applicable? It is the main driver for FCRA compliance!!!!!! Dispute it.
Re: Re: What is reaging an account? I am confused. Where exactly is the date of last activity located? Here is what mine says. Date Opened 03/91 Reported Since 1/95 Date of Status 9/03 Last Reported 9/03 Type Revolving Terms N/A Monthly Payment 0 Responsibility Individual Amount N/A High Balance $2,XXX Recent Balance N/A Recent Payment N/A
Re: Re: What is reaging an account? Other more experienced CNetters might know more, but I think Date of Status is how some CRA's report DOLA
Re: Re: What is reaging an account? some cas report it as DOLA, some report it as date of status, some report it only by saying when the trade line should expire (subtract 7 years for DOLA)
Re: Re: Re: What is reaging an account? I am still confused. I paid off and closed this account in January of 2002. That account currently reads: Date Opened 03/91 Reported Since 1/95 Date of Status 9/03 Last Reported 9/03 Type Revolving Terms N/A Monthly Payment 0 Responsibility Individual Amount N/A High Balance $2,XXX Recent Balance N/A Recent Payment N/A The date I paid it off isn't on there anywhere. When looking at my triple reports at privacy guard, it shows it as still being reported monthly as status OK. If I paid it off in January 2002, why are they reporting monthly on it as if it were still open?
Re: Re: Re: Re: What is reaging an account? You just looking for a DOLA??? "IF" it is a POSITIVE ACCOUNT...don't worry...YOU ONLY NEED TO WORRY ABOUT DOLA ON A NEGATIVE ACCOUNT!!!
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: What is reaging an account? It is under the positive section of my report, but shows some serious lateness prior to paying it off. I just am trying to figure out when it is going to fall off my credit report for that reason.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: What is reaging an account? What difference would it make if it was a Negative account?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: What is reaging an account? GEORGE wrote that you only need to worry about DOLA if it is on a negative account. So what if it was a negative account from 1997 and suddenly the Date of Status is listed as 2003?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: What is reaging an account? Sorry for the double post. My computer is possessed in the afternoons...
