They send a notice of the dispute and any information you povide to the furnisher of the information and request that they verify that the information you disputed is true and correct. If the CRA don't get an answer within 30 days they are supposed to delete the listing. In the vast majority of cases the furnisher of the info replies and says the information he provided is true and correct. Personally I would not expect any other answer unless there was information on the listing which was incorrect in which case it would be changed to reflect the correct inforomation but I would not expect them to just up and admit they are liars even though that may well be the case. The CRA really don't care whether the information is correct or not so long as the person or company who supplied the information says its true. And if he lies about it then its going to take a lawsuit to prove him wrong and few people would be willing to do that. So they don't have much to lose by just claiming its true and be done with it.
