This inquiry showed up on my Equifax report yesterday.

    06/19/2002 EU-Liberty Mutual Insurance

I have never done anything with Liberty Mutual, so I'm hoping this is a soft inquiry, but EU is not listed in Equifax's defintion list.

    Anyone know what it is?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

I, too, have 2 EU's on my Equifax report. According to Equifax reps, these are soft inquiries. When you get your report, the EU's will be listed as a hard inquiry. I have tried on several occasions to dispute these, but they will not allow it because they are supposedly soft inquiries.

EU inquiries are real estate related. It seems that Equifax treats those as soft when it comes to scoring. I have 2 of those besides one hard inquiry and when getting my score through CreditWatch, it reports that the number of inquiries taken into consideration is 1.

No guarantee though that these inquiries are REAL soft which means that no one sees them except you.
