Hello everyone I'm hoping you can help me out with some of your expertise. I disputed 3 items with equifax about 3 months ago. after the investigation was up equifax says they verified but only marked the items in dispute, that still shows that way now. I never disputed these Items with the credit bureau who says i'm disputing them. My question is what letter can I send Equifax to make them remove these items and not just mark them in dispute for 3 months. Any help will be appreciated.

When you disputed the items, Equifax had 30 days in which to "verify" the accuracy, completeness, etc. of those items. Have you sent a validation letter to the OC or CA? If not, search through some of the threads and find a sample validation letter. Make sure you have the appropriate docs to prove your position.

You should also be prepared to sue. As such, locate a sample intent to sue letter and be ready to make good on your threat.

Well I didn't send a validation letter to the Credit Bureau because I know they don't have my current address and I didn't want to give it to them. However when Equifax investigated it the Credit bureau voluntarily asked them to notate the account as consumer dispute. Isn't there a time frame as to how long a credit bureau can notate an account in dispute, at some point they should come up with some proof right.

Well, sorry I can't help - but I'm looking for an answer to a similar question. I have an account with Equifax (CSC- gag) that was verified with numerous lates last December. All of the sudden it shows up in dispute again in February (I didn't dispute again) - and has been showing that way for 90+ days. I want this item deleted BAD! I too am looking for a way to use this to get them to delete. Anyone?? Possibly a letter demanding deletion since it has been 90 days? I don't want to even mention the fact that I didn't re-dispute it. Just want them to delete.

1*Why would you send it to the CRA when the Al L is for a CA?
2*This makes no sense. CRAs don't investigate other CRAs. Nor do they report to other CRAs.
3*You set the time limit according to what actions you take.
4*Depends on how far you push them.

I'm sorry that was worded wrong, what I am trying to say is Equifax informed me that the Collection Agency voluntarily asked them to put those items in the Consume diputes section, I never even sent this collection agency a validation letter yet. So before I sent a validation letter Ca was one step ahead of me. So my origianal question probably was misunderstood. So now I'm trying to figure out how to go at Equifax to get them to remove this Item. Or find a law as to how long this CA can keep reporting to Equifax that customer disputes this.

I'm going to bump this and Change my question to How long can a CA continue to report to CRA consumer disputes. I have searched the board but I am still unable to come up with a clear answer.
