1. I disputed a collection account with EXP as "not mine" and the results came back as verified. 2. I requested validation on this account with the CA over at the same time and have not received any response. QUESTION: Once I have sent another two follow-up requests to the CA and they still don't respond, should I send another dispute to EXP with all documentation? If so is there any legal obligation by EXP to remove the account due to non-response from CA? T-Man
T-Man: In my opinion you should have waited for the results of the validation before disputing with the CRA's. The reason is because if and when the CA's do not validate the CRA's MUST by law consider your evidence i.e. copies of letters you sent w/green cards of the CA's inability to verify the debt. This accomplishes two things: One: It makes it more likely you will get the deletion from the CRA's than just going it cold and TWO: You have evidence of the CA's violations and therefore leverage to bargain with them for a deletion. I suggest that you take the green cards and the letters snd dispute with CRA for deletion now and or use the CA's violations as bargaining power for them to delete the tradeline. Just my opinion...hope it helps.
