Capital Accounts sent me a letter stating that they would remove all negative lines from CR's if account was paid in full within the next 10 days. I sent the check, and on the back of it I stamped (had the stamp made): Deposit of this check constitutes payment in full of account # xxxxxx, and creditor agrees to remove above account from Equifax, TransUnion and Experian within 14 days of deposit. They have not removed anything ~ anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
Did you receive anything in writing from them agreeing to you plan. They really don't have to abide by the endorsement on the check, depends on what the fine print says. You should follow up with a letter demanding it deleted,if not you will go to your states ag,bbb, ftc, etc.
Restrictive endorsements are only valid in a few states, and then there are usually specific rules that must be followed. It's not much help now, but next time get the agreement in writing before you send the check (and I bet they won't sign the agreement).
