I was in a similiar sitution. I had all paid collections and limited new credit. I found that after 1 year of no negatives items on your credit report at all, Citibank will start you with a card. That is how I bounced back.

I had providian, cap1,first premier and first national bank of marin.

I have alot of credit now.

You need to dispute the negatives and hope the creditors dont verify the item and it gets deleted. The idea is to delete items, pay on time each month and then apply for more credit once your credit rating improves. Your credit rating improves little by little that way.

    I hope this helps.
