I have a key bank credit card that was a joint account with my father. The account is now closed, but it was showing some late payments, so I disputed it. First, on equifax, all the late payments went away, but it changed from a revolving account with an R1 status to "Consumer disputes, under investigation" or something like that and stayed like that for more than 2 months. I asked Equifax about it, and they said that notation came from key bank. I disputed the account as not mine in hopes of getting rid of it or at least getting it back to R1 and this time the late payments are gone and it's back to revolving with an R1 status, but in the "Who's account column" where it normally says Individual or Joint Account it says "SHARED, BUT OTHERWISE UNDESIGN". Does anyone have any idea what this means? And if it's a problem to have on my report? Thanks, Brett
SHARED, BUT OTHERWISE UNDESIGN". Does anyone have any idea what this means? And if it's a problem to have on my report? Thanks, Brett
Yep, "UNDESIGN" = Undesignated. It used to be UNrated, but I guess they changed it. I think it gets removed from the FICO calculation too. Tell me if it's at the end of your TL's. Usually unrated accounts get placed in there last in the TL section.
