Disputed an old Chevron account that came back verified. It got deleted from my other two reports. What should I say when I re-dipute that will get them to delete this. It is due to come off 8/2002 thanks
You can send a request for a description of the procedure used to verify it. You want to know how they verified and at what address, phone # and the name of the person who verified. Chances are they won't have a name and the phone # they give you will be the regular customer service. Then you know they most likely didn't attempt to verify it. Then you can send a demand letter that they remove it. Your next choice is to send copies of your other reports showing the deletion. Block out any other info they shouldn't see. Lastly, wait another month and just dispute it again. Because it's due to fall off in 6 months, at that time, they might just delete it.
