What Should I Do?

I disputed an account listed on my credit report (Fingerhut) because I've never did any business with them. The account was deleted because they could not verify. That was about 4 months ago. Yet, I just noticed that I have a new collection account on my report. So... what Fingerhut did was sold/assigned it even though they deleted it initially because they could not verify it.

So now, I'm sending validation letters to the Collection Agency, but... what should I do about Fingerhut???

Don't worry about Fingerhut for a while. They aren' t likely to do you any damage for a while if ever.

Worry about that collection agency. You need several pieces of key information before you can do anything about Fingerhut.

You need to make the collection agency validate the debt and you need to find out whether the account was sold to them or whether it was assigned to them.

Nail that collection agency first and then you may have evidence to nail Fingerhut first.
