I pulled my credit up and see a charge of 600 from a cable company that i was with about a year ago. Well i called turns out the box was never returned. Well i did cancel the account at the time cause i was moving and the roomate was suppose to return the box but never did. He totatlly forgot but brought it out of storage and gave to me. I called the cable company and they told me to bring it in. So how do i go about asking them to take it off the Credit Report? Promise to give the box back after they give me a letter saying that they will remove it from the CR's?

    Yep...

    Here's the box...

    See it...

    Touch it...

    Feel it...

    Na, na, na...

    No grabbing...

Now, type a letter saying that the account is supposed to be deleted, *AND* process the deletion through the CRA's now, *BEFORE* I let go of it...

Some places may be reluctant to give a deletion letter until they can actually see that they're seconds away from satisfaction. :)

Make sure you get the letter in your hands, BEFORE handing it over... :)

Heck. I'd walk in with the box in one hand and a letter in the other hand. Say "sign here" that you'll not verfity this TL to the CRA as this is a non-disclosure statement (privacy) and then go dispute it. You can ask for them to take it off, but I'd hope that with this letter in hand that you could run a lawsuit if they failed to comply with the terms of the letter.
