What subprime card did you use?

I know all the Premier Bank cards are pretty popular, but what other credit cards for bad/damaged credit have you used and been happy with? I've heard mixed reviews about Premier Bank and would like to know what are my other options.

I think Premier SUCKS! I keep getting offers from them all the time. Yesterday I got a Pre-Approved GOLD Card.......whoopeeee......not.

Have you seen the fees they charge just to get the card? Ugh.

    Monthly maintenance fees?
    Set up fee?

You have to be ROCK BOTTOM and REALLY REALLY REALLY want a credit card to go through those hoops.

I've had luck with Orchard and Capitol one shortly after BK. I have a $2200 CL Capitol One and the Orchard card has a $950 limit. Both with zero balances...:)

My first card after bankruptcy was a secured Cap One with a 500 limit. After about a year it became unsecured. Orchard Bank gave me an unsecured card..both of those were okay for starters. OB gives a CL increase every 6 months and payments are easy to make online. Neither of these crads ever caused me any difficulty. The Credit limits weren't much but I didnt want huge limits anyway...just a chance to rebuild.

Hi GEORGE!!! Good to see you again. Of course, your idea of subprime is probably not the same as most people's!

I can't believe they didn't give you an increase in all those years. Even Cap One finally gave me an increase!

When I started rebuilding back in May, I got an app for First Premier (and two other cards, USAA and Cap1). I got accepted to all three and realized that since I could do better, I could drop 1st Premier. But the card came pre-activated and with a bill for ~=$183 and a credit limit of $300.00 (while I got $2K from Cap1 and $7K from USAA). I paid the $183.00 so I wouldn't get a derog on my report and called them up and requested that the month $6.00 fee was waived.

They agreed and "waived" it by putting a $72 credit on my bill which would ostensibly be the $6 payments made over the course of the year. I was rather annoyed as that's not what was agreed to over the phone. So I called about 2 months later and cancelled with no hassle and figured that was that. About 3 weeks later, I got a check in the mail refunding me the $183! I was really pleasantly surprised. So, while the card wasn't for me, the customer service got some points in my book.
