I disputed with Experian and recieved a RR back verifying they recieved my dispute on 11/26/03.

Here is what I got back yesterday, 12/6/03:

We are responding to the information you sent us. Unfortunately, we could not use this information. We are contacting the source of the information you questioned. When we complete our verification process, which may take up to 30 days, we will send you the results.

Could they be any more veg? What am I supposed to make of this? Has anyone recieved something like this?

it sounds like you tried to send proof. it looks like they dont want that. they figure that if what you disputed is true then the proof will be what the creditors say. just wait their 30 days but start the countdown at when they recieved what you sent, not now.

And sending them something back notifying them that they have 30 days from when they recieved it would probably not be a good idea?

    • Just be quiet, don't send them anything, and wait the 30 days from your RR date, as jaytee said. Meanwhile, read around.

      Welcome to the board :)

I received the exact same form letter from Exp. I sent proof that a TL was to be deleted. It was a letter from Sears stating that my hubby was not an authorized user, and that his name had been removed from the account. this was not good enough for Exp. Since it was not hand signed, Exp claimed they could not use the information. They supposedly 'contacted the source' and the incorrect info was verified by sears. the TL 'remained'.

Now, i don't know if exp just never investigated, or if some idiot at sears just verified something they shouldn't have, but it took 4 disputes, 5 months, and finally an intent to sue to both sears and Exp before the TL was removed.

Dont be surprised if your TL 'remains'.

I too received the same letter yesterday. Sent in a letter saying the account was not mine and that they would delete it. Really makes me upset because they won't investigate anything and their excuse is you need to submit evidence...then I submit evidence, and they say it is not good enough. Maybe it is just me, but Exp is gettiing much harder to dispute with than they were a year ago. Thank goodness I got started when I did.

I disputed a hard inquiry with this pinheads back in October and they informed me that I needed to contact the organisation that made the search, who wrote back informing me that I had to dispute this with Experian....

Is it just me, or does anyone else notice a pattern of unco-operation here?

I sent them two separate letters from two different creditors requesting the account be deleted. They wouldn't even investigate the accounts.

I had to wait until the 90th day for the CA's udf to be processed and deleted. Of, course by that time, I had already been declined for a refi.

I have not recieved this notice from them, but was expecting to. I had 2 letters from 2 CA's stating the accounts were placed on my file in error and they each requested deletion from the CRA's...

I sent EX a copy of both letters and they removed them...

I do have a letter from First National Bank that is NOT signed, but on letterhead stating they are deleting account also...I expect to get the ketter you received
