Re: what the heck just happened? It wasn't just you -- I had just posted something last night and when I tried to go back to the board, I couldn't get in. I tried off and on for a while and never could get back. Kept getting "This site can't be displayed." As paranoid as I am, I immediately thought some troll hacker did something to bring the site down. I sure was glad to see all of you this morning
Re: what the heck just happened? In my experience, the FTC does monitor these boards, but they're not watching us, they're watching them. Several people have sent me email messages, with expanded headers, wanting to know if the emails really came from the FTC. They did. The FTC was requesting further information re whatever it was the person had posted. The CA in question was under investigation, and the FTC was gathering evidence against them.
Re: what the heck just happened? Our site was unavailable in the early morning hours for approximately one hour due to a problem with the server logs which I was able to resolve. Apart from that I am not aware of any other issues with the server today. Sincerely, pbm
