What the??? Pure BS with Experian.

    I disputed an address with Experian that is not even close to my address or any previous addresses. I get back a response from them that says, "We store information as it is sent to us by your credit grantors or from public records" What the heck! I sent copies of 2 of my utility bills to prove my address. Plus I don't have any public records on my report. This is the best part though, I called the post office about the address they are listing incorrectly, IT DOESN'T EVEN EXIST!!!! What do I send Experian now??
    PS. I forgot to mention that they sent this letter saying the above to my correct address, NOT the incorrect one listed on the report??????

    Call Experian. I had all my "bad" addresses removed by phone calls. If one CSR at Experian says they can't do it, hang up and get another. They will do it. Tell them "NICELY" that you never resided there. That is your brother/sister's address, but not yours. Keep trying with the phone calls, It works.

    I agree call Back I have had success with this as long as you are nice they will do it, its just hard to control the fustration when you get refused been there done that.

    I called Experian and they said I would need to dispute it in writting. I called 4 times and was told this each time!! I am about ready to scream. I have already done this though!! Is this a FCRA violation since they are incorrectly reporting my address? Should I send an intent to sue?

    Try this...

    Go into the post office personally.

    Ask to speak with the postmaster for your city/town.

    Get the postmaster to write on USPS letter head, that the address XXXX DOES NOT EXIST STREET, does not exist in town XXXXXXX, XX XXXXX.

    Make a photo copy of this letter, and send them the photo copy, along with a personal letter disputing the address as NOT MINE/NEVER LIVED AT THIS ADDRESS/THIS ADDRESS DOES NOT EXIST.

    Notorize the letter at your local notory's office, and mail it to them CMRRR.

    Make a second copy of both pages, the notorized letter, and the letter from the postmaster. Just in case you need to take matters farther.
