Ever since I started cleaning my credit in December, TU has listed four items as "Suppressed" (listed below). They are still suppressed and they've been that way for over 90 days. I never called for an investigation of these items, they just appeared that way. Several questions. 1. Why are they suppressed? 2. Do they count on my score? 3. Will they appear on my credit report that others see? 4. Should I just leave them as is? 5. Can I demand they be removed since they've been suppressed for 90 days? Here are the items: THE FOLLOWING ITEM IS SUPPRESSED PENDING CREDIT GRANTOR UPDATE. They don't affect your score when they are suppressed, so leave well enough alone and move on to the next. I have a student loan I disputed in Oct. 01 that has been suppressed ever since "pending credit grantor update". It should say on your report that you are the only one seeing it.
Burnadebt, I also have an NCO file suppressed from my report. I disputed it, hopefully it won't cause me any problems since I disputed it. I have no idea what it's for, and don't want to look at it. I'll let you know how the dispute goes when the time is up (about another week or so).
LoL, since we're at it I'll to add my entry with NCO as suppressed aswell. Been like this for years, never bothered with it not worth the hassle...
I asked TU about this, and the creditor or CA was the one that suppressed the tradeline. She told me it does not appear to other creditors looking at my file. Did you send a validation to them? Maybe one reason why it's supressed, OR they were meaning to update, but never did (cool!)
FYI in my experience they suppressed it on there own, prob because I always ignore there pitiful attemps to try and collect from me. However recently I did try to dispute it and it just keeps coming back verified and still remains suppressed ohwell...
I received an updated TU report in the mail yesterday and NCO was deleted...didn'thelp my score since it was suppressed in the first place, but it's a step in the right direction nonetheless. Good luck
I had a suppressed NCO tradeline on my TU report for the better part of a year. I disputed it last round and it was deleted.
DaveLV / matt_r: Did either of you notice an increase in your score after the SUPPRESSED item was removed? If so, then SUPPRESSED items do affect scores.
There was no change in my score. The suppressed item was showing on my copy of my TU report when I applied for my mortgage last month. It did NOT show on the report my mortgage lender pulled. It was deleted last week. This pretty much proves to me that: 1. These items do not factor into your score 2. Creditors do not see them
Items on a credit report sometimes are preceded by a statement indicating "...this item is SUPPRESSED..." It means that businesses pulling your report will not see the item listed. Only you see it on your personal report.
