I have sent several DV letters out over the past 2 months. I have had several fall off that were not able to be validated. However, I have 2 that came back validated. One was a credit card(not mine) receipt signed by my father for a seminar he attended. Clearly not mine!

The second I received just yesterday. It was from AFNI, who provided a Verizon phone bill as evidence that a $200 debt is valid. Now, I originally had 3separate Verizon entries. About 4 weeks ago I called Verizon directly and spoke to a nice guy. He checked the records and voila, all 3 Verizon TL's were gone from my reports next time I checked, so i thought I was done with Verizon. The AFNI TL was always there, but I did not know what it was for so I DV'd them. I am a Jr. so my Dad's name appears on the phone bill, but there is no signature. I assume they think its me. I signed my DV letter with the JR suffix as well as provided my SS# in order for them to cross reference. Clearly they didn't. They are still collecting What should I do???

Send them a letter thanking them for validation. They have proven that the debt does not belong to you, but rather to the Katz Sr., and you expect them to immediately remove all evidence of the debt from your credit report, as well as stop collecting from the wrong party.

You may have to sue them to get them to see the light...

Wow thank you. Makes perfectly good sense. Should I send CMRR??

Most certainly. You may well have to sue them.
