What to do now? (student loan lates

None of my student loans show up as late on my Experian but they do on EQuifax and TU. I disputed with Equifax last month. Came back verified as prior payment is being reported correctly.

Here is the issue. I had an appeal going on in March when my forbearance ran out. I won the appeal and they issued me a forbearance extension that dated from January-JUne 2003. However, they are reporting a bunch of 60 and 90 day lates in March and April. How could they have verified it as correct...how could I be late when my loans were on forbearance?

    Any opinions on next steps?

If I were you, I would not handle this through the CRA. I would deal with the Student Loan folks directly. I had a similar situation with my student loans and was able to get resolution quickly on some issues with incorrect payment history, duplicate reporting, etc.

I would send a letter to the student loan folks explaining the forbearance problems and ask that info be updated. This was very easy for me to do with Sallie Mae.

    Who's holding your loans?

Any advice on getting rid of 2 60 day lates that are yours? I have two 60 day lates with my student loan from four years ago. These are the only derogatory items that I have on my credit reports. I've disputed them, but they come back as verified.

I called their CS people and they wouldn't help me. Perhaps I will try sending a letter. The bank is Key Bank, through AES. What pisses me off is that I had to go through TERI for the appeal and it took them over a month to return my calls. Actually...they didn't return my call...I had to track this guy down and fax him in order to get a response. It was during that month that they reported the lates to the CRAs. Grrrr.

Off to write more letters :(
