I received a letter from an OC (1stUSA) stating,

"...We received your dispute from the credit reporting agencies, regarding the information reported for the above-referenced account.
After researching your dispute, including a review of our records related to the account, we were unable to clearly determine your responsibility for the account. Therefore, we informed the credit reporting agencies that the account should be reported as disputed on your credit file pending a further investigation.
If you wishto continue to dispute the reporting of this account, we will be pleased to assist you. To do this, we akd that you send a signed copy of the enclosed affidavit to the the following address: ....
Once the information has been received, someone from our Fraud Department will contact you to further investigate your claim...."

The 2nd pg is of an "Affidavit of Fact Fraudulent Credit Appllication"

(like I'm STUPID enough to actually fill it out & send it back...SPARE ME)

History: Disputed w/ CRA's as 'Not Mine'

Do I now; a) reply to the OC with a 'PROVE OR
    REMOVE' letter?

    b) fax the CRA's a copy of the letter to
    have the charge off removed

    -or- c) your advice?

I could be wrong, but the only way I think it could hurt you is if you were providing false information.

You're gonna like this....I got the same letter from First USA and sent it to TU requesting it be deleted.

Today I got back a reply from TU stating they verified the info and changed my report from charge off to paid charge off.

First USA's letter states they can't prove it's mine and TU verified it as a paid charge off. What a bunch of idiots.

I just might sign the fraud letter...not sure yet.
