    From a previous post:

I have an unpaid phone bill of less than a hundred bucks that went to RMA in July of 2001. I called and tried to negotiate them deleting the report in exchange for my paying them. They refused, even after several calls. I've spoken to supervisors, etc. They won't budge!

    Any advice?

Why are you calling them!!! Don't call RMA.

You should be trying to catch them in the violation spiral, not trying to wheel and deal with them. RMA is notorious for not deleting for payment. Don't even try it with them.

    Ahhh, my mistake...

So what have other people done to have them delete? And will they delete such a small amount I owe them?

    DO NOT CALL THEM!!!

make them validate first of all....

when you do that pay careful attention to what they do.. or what they don't do to rack up violations....

If they don't validate properly and commited violations then you have some leverage.. by the way RMA truely sucks because they have a reputation of ignoring letters...

THOSE LUCKY BASTARD decided to be smart and deleted an account they had with me.. I really was looking foward to some court time with them...

    BLAH!!

Can I still ask them to validate when I have already spoken to them and tried to negotiate?

    Anyone?

Of course. You haven't lost your right to get validation. Send it certified mail, return receipt requested, so you have proof the received it. The sample validation letters are in the letter section of this board. Amend it to suit your situation.

I had a collection onTU and I tried to negotiate payment for deletion. They refused on several occasions. the amount was for $134.00 and I paid before I knew anything about validations. I later disputed with TU as "not mine" and it was deleted. I guess it sure that sometimes CRA will deleted a same paid account rather than investigating..

It is not that CRA deleted without investigating, it is more than likely, that CA or OC didn't bother to verify the info with CRA. I have a small electric bill "paid Charge off" that has been on my reports for 6 years now, due to come off, 9/2003. Verified everytime.

I always send CRRR and first class mail.

That way they still get something if they ignore the RRR letter.
