I have a few choice words, but I'll be nice....

I researched some older posts, but I still don't have a clear idea on what to do. Any takers? All is appreciated.

Item 1 Midland Credit Management (yuck)

    OC - Aspen
I think I opened up the account in 2006. I closed 12/2006 for all of the fees. I left with a bal of $300. I had gotten up to $500. Broke my ankle. Went on STDisability and was not able to keep up with all of the med bills, physical therapy 3 times a week and so on....well now they want $1044.00.
    Entry shows as:
MCM Date opened date of status type Responsibility Limit Rec bal
    123 XXX Jan 2007 Jan 2007 Collection Individual 917 1064.00
Debt Head Beach Reported since Last reported terms
Partial account number Apr 2007 Apr 2007 N/A
    12345689

Problem 1 - illegally reaged. Date opened with them yeah it says Jan 2007 but with OC in 2005/2006
Problem 2 - Orig bal $300. How do I eliminate the other $700 in misc fees that they have tacked on.
Problem 3 - Last reported on 4/07. Why can I not get the folks in TX to verify and validate.

I have not DVd yet, because I want to ruffle the feathers properly.

Says it is supposed to continue on record until 2009. They have sort of reaged this one based. I believe I had this account in 2001. Laid off after 9/11. It was secured with $300. They took that. Then why do I have all of these ridiculous fees?

How can I get rid of these? HELP!! I would even PFD or settle but not for all of the money they are talking about.

Dispute the date of status/date of major first delinquency (if there, if not challenge as incomplete) through the credit reporting agencies.

    Dispute account type.

If or when it's verified, use it as leverage or sue them.
