I had an orchard bank MC way back when(it wasn't orchard bank at the time though, forgot the name of the bank), well I defaulted and they charged it off. Then a few months later I get a letter stating that Orchard bank had bought the other bank out and that I could 'repair' my charged-off account if I wanted, by getting this MC that had a limit of, what my charge off amt was plus $80 in xtra credit. So I took them up on the deal (APR was actually a point lower than originally). Well not being careful when reading my credit, I thought that the tradeline for Orchard bank was my new account. It's not it's the old one and it is just a regular old charge-off and its just sitting there!! Now what do I do? The rep when I opened the new account said that my credit would reflect the old account as paid and put a new tradeline on my credit for the new account. I don't have a tradeline for the new account and I can't get the full account # for the old account (they XXX the last 4 digits). Should I first try to call Orchard abk or should I just write a letter to CRAs and to Orchard Bank? They don't list the account as closed even though it is. I've been applying for a Sears card over and over since I was 18 and have yet to get one and now this last rejection said because of my past delinquencies, well THIS IS THE ONE THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT i'm sure!!! (sorry to yell I'm a bit miffed lol) So what should I do? Thank you for ANY help!! take care all! Laura
Re: What to do with Orachard Bank? Dispute the old account with the CRA. Then wait and see what happens. There are dispute letters in the sample letters section.
Re: What to do with Orachard Bank? Thanks a TON helpwanted!! I disputed it online this afternoon, along with a bout a gazillion other accts (probably shouldn't have done that many huh? lol) Have you noticed that you get the same service disputing online that you do if you sent a snail mail letter? (if you don't mind answering ANOTHER mind-numbing question hehehe) Thanks again!! L.
