Anyone have any strategy in dealing with utiltiy chargeoffs that havent gone to collection yet. I know how to deal with CAs but im clueless in how you validate with the original creditor when theres no contract signed in the case of a electricity or phone company.

Im disputing with the CRAs but my first round came verified with Experian (dont know yet with TU and EQ).

If there is a CA you don't need to deal with the OC.

If your in CA then the OC has to follow the same rules as a CA. I would dispute with whoever is sending collection letters.

After 2 years most utility CA's don't verify if you dispute with the CRA. At least that's the case for me.

Verizon has they're own dispute form to fill out if you claim the account was opened by someone using your info.

You are still entitled to a copy of the application work order or what ever.
You can also demand a total correct and complete account history
