What to send...along with DV?

Prior to my discovering this forum, I went the route of disputing a few things on my CR via the online route. I got a notice today saying my personal information didn't match what they had on record. They are requesting proof of ID and what not. Fine. My question is what do I need to include from now on as sufficient proof of ID. I assume when I decide to DV some things in the future, especially via cert. mail, they may respond back in the same manner. I would obviously like to avoid such a delay.

I stumbled upon something that mentioned that a couple weeks ago but I couldn't remember what it said and I can't seem to find it with the search feature. Thanks.

Dispute in writing. Copy of DL and SS card, with copy of a recent utility bill as proof of current address (if DL does not show current address) should be sufficient.

If it matters, get your report in writing, not on-line. Also dispute in writing, CRRR.

Anyone know where and/or how I can get certified documents? i.e. birth certificate

I just realized that I have lost or misplaced my SS card so I am pretty much stuck as far as trying to validate my own info. To get a new SS card, I need certified documents. Did a search and there are many places that offer the service but I was just wondering if obtaining those thru the state was free and/or cheaper.

You don't need any service to do it for you, just contact the county by phone and ask what they need you to send them so they can send it to you.

You generally contact the county where you were born, whatever department handles birth certificates, marriage licenses, etc, provide your full name as on the certificate, date of birth, place of birth, possibly a current ID to show you are you, and request a certified copy, sign your letter, and include a check.
