I went up 18 points to a 669 on equifax.
My 2 top positive factors are no lates and low revolving cc %(40%)
my 2 top negative factors are inquiries(5) and length of time.
Oddly enough my mbna card hit today which made my length of time move from positive to negative and my revolving % from negative to positive. Man I love fico

Oh I forgot to add. In 3 days I will lose one hard. In 4 days another hard goes and in 6 days a 3rd hard leaves this earth. Then I have a month wait for the remaining 2. SHould I just wait 3-6 days and then apply. I got turned down for target at 661 for inquiries and revolving % but the % became positive and maybe 2 inquiries will be positive also.

Might get you GM...almost positively would get you Target. Not much else, though, in my experience :( Sorry.

thanks. I may go up in points just from losing the inquiries. Does anyone know what GM wants for a score? I called but she had no clue.

    target guest card- approved
    lowes card-declined
gm card-declined due to deliquency(shows from 5 years ago but positive factor says no lates ever so strange+presence of finance accounts+too high revolving % at 40% usage)

when you get the decline letter for the GM card... use the reference number and ask for a manual review... you can actually talk with an analyst and maybe get it :)

    good luck

Ok since my 669 equifax is somehow worth more than my 724 TU I researched and tried best buy- again. For like 3 years I have tried best buy and after 10 minutes online it said approved so I called and they said for $1500. Now granted I do not need it really but everyone says you should have 2 store cards and today I got target and best buy. Now I just need to wait 3 years for them to mature so my #1 negative stops reading average length of time of accounts is too short. What I really want is a chase toys r us card(2 young kids) but they have been processing it for over a week now and told me to call back next week. I wonder if that is a good or bad thing or they are just too busy to get to it.

    picantel,

Chase is very slow in processing. It may take up to 4 weeks sometime.
