    Long story made short....

Wife had some fraudulent activity on a Discover card. Discover sent one of those "use this check for any purpose" promotionals to an old address (wife hadn't been there for over 8 years). The check was cashed by someone, Discover sent the statements to the old address, couldn't collect, charged off the account and then sold the account to Sherman Acquisitions, one of those secondary debt buyers. Of course we didn't know about the debt because the statments were not being sent to a valid address.

Then Sherman Acquisitions tried to collect, we challenged/disputed, and finally after 5 months and one denied mortgage, we get corrective letters from Discover and Sherman (many many thanks to the board for helping educate me on the disopute process!!!)

We are close to being able to get another house, but the CRA's haven't updated my wife's files. (EQ showed my wifes scores at 612 before the process started. After disputing them with all three CRAs and the CA and OC, her score was 721, although the items are still listed in dispute.) We were told by the CA that the CRAs can take 60 days to update the files.

My question is this. Does anyone know of a procedure by which to accelrate the update process? Maybe call the CRA's? Or would that just muck up the works?

Thanks in advance for any advice!
