What's It Suposed To Look Like?

    Hey friends,
When the ca's get the validation request they are suposed to update to the cra s that the item is disputed, right? What does this look like on the report? Will I see it on CE and Credit Watch and TU. I have been monitoring these online reports and I see no notice of any disputes. I haven't yet got the green slips back from the cra so I haven't expected them to update yet. But I have got the return receipts from the ca s. What am I looking for ?
    thanks

Basically, it's supposed to say something to the effect of:

    ABC Collection Company
    123 Street
    Anywhere, USA
    Account status: account in dispute

    or

    Account status: consumer disputes account

    or

Account status: account disputed by consumer

    etc.

The CA is supposed to place the account in dispute on your credit reports 5 days after they sign for (receive) your validation request.

Yes you will see it on CE (experian), credit watch (equifax) or from TU directly once the account is placed in dispute.

does the five day rule apply to the cra as well? On my trans Union there are two collection accounts listed with the CA names in bold type is this because they are listed as open derogative items? there is no mention of disputes

Equifax and Experian (creditwatch and creditexpert) will show as is in dispute. Trans Union will not, because, as Marie pointed out, their software is outdated and not capable of doing this. They are in violation of the FCRA every time you dispute something.

Actually, my TU account does show an item in dispute. I can attest to the fact that they will after repeated attempts, update an account for you that says it's disputed by a consumer.

In my case, TU can't get a straight answer from the CA. The CA was supposed to delete and never did. TU has been sitting around with the item in dispute. At the end of the month, I'm filing a lawsuit. I will only be able to prove about 30-45 days of constant in dispute status. I even got a letter from TU after I disputed it yet again stating that they were still looking into it.
