What's the best way to pay a CA?

I'm ready to pay my CA who happens to be a lawyer firm. You may have already read my posts previously. They insist that I pay a check by phone but I refuse to give them my account number. They also say that they won't accept any other method of payment due to "delay problems" and they don't have to furnish a receipt. Delay in what I don't know they don't make sense. And do they or not have to send a receipt as paid? So I thought about just sending them the payment by either money order or cashiers check and send it crrr, but how will I know if they have applied it to my account. It's not listed on my cr under them just the old ca and oc. What if they come back and try to sue me saying I didn't pay? I intend to make copies of everything to keep. I think they are just jerking me around. I've contacted lawyers offices who either are on vacation, not in the office, haven't called back yet because they are just so busy, or have to review with them before appt is made. Any suggestions.

I would send them a personal check with the words "Paid in full" written on the memo line. Above that write your account #. Send it UPS or Fed Ex overnight. No delay. Once you check the UPS or Fed Ex tracker, and it got there print it as proof that it made it. Your cancelled check will be further proof that they cashed it. If they than keep on reporting it as "due" you have a major violation issue with them.

You could also send them a money order - again, write "Paid in Full" on it. A MO is the same as cash. Better yet, do a traveler's check!

Money orders are a PITA to get back showing that an outfit cashed it.

Physically staple a communication to the negotiable instrument. A check is better because you will be able to see the tear with your bank.

Send it certified mail and write the number on the communication and the check.
