    Account closed by consumer
    Account closed by credit grantor

does one look worse on your score?

one of my accts shows both... the credit grantor part is not right...should i dispute it? the acct is fully paid off

    thank you!

the first is ok. it shows that you chose to close the account. the second is BAD! that means that the grantor decided you were too bad a risk and clipped your wings. Most often the grantor closes an account when the consumer fails to pay. this is why it looks bad.

geez... first how in the hell can my acct be closed by both?

i guess i will need to dispute that...

i wonder if it is bringing my score down.

    thanks for the help.

I have two credit card accounts reporting "Account closed by credit grantor". My score did not change at all when they closed them since there is no negative information. The reason they closed the accounts is that I didn't use them for over 5 years.
