Tonight I tried to access my Transunion credit report for free because I am in the process of disputing some negative tradelines with them. Becuase I got one of the identity questions wrong, they blocked me from getting my online report for like a week.

My question is: is there anyway around this? Also..are there any other good free ways to check your credit report/score besides Eloan and Worthknowing.com?

That is awful...so if someone inadvertanly makes an error during the verification process it's tough luck then correct?

I hope someone sues them back to the stone age...

I have never made an error online and I have NEVER been able to get it online. They always block me. It might be stupid but you should check to see if previous TU reports are reporting errors in your address and then type the errors in.

Well at least I'm not the only one...I've got a week left for my investigation and I am getting anxious to see if anything got deleted...

You can call them and they'll tell you if you ask what the current status is of the dispute. I think (not sure) you'll need a credit report with a report number though. Do you have an older one you can use? I called up using a 2 month old report number- worked fine.

Thanks for the info. I do indeed have a recent copy of my report...part of me feels like if I call them I'll jinx my dispute :)

Yea I know what you mean, I was thinking the same things like "ohh I don't want to remind them and they'll verify just cause they're tooo damn lazy to really verify with an OC/CA". I just got lucky I think. Hang in there :)

    Go to www.worthknowing.com

The score is WorthNothing. My 694 TU FICO translated to a 10 (out of 100) at Worthknowing. As Scooby -Doo would say, "Huuuuhhhhh???!!!". But, you do get to see your up to date TU report for free. At least once. I don't know if you can use it more than that. I was wanting to get my TU FICO updated, but didn't want to blow twelve bucks until I knew for sure that a couple of accounts updated positive changes I was expecting. That's how I got around it. I saw the updates I was looking for, then I went and spent twelve bucks at TU.

if you delete your "worthknowing" account you can look at it over and over again. I have used the same user name and email address each time(about 5 times)

I just looked at my TU report (pulled later the same day as I did Worthknowing), and I see no inquiry, hard or soft, as a result of that report. I wonder if maybe it needs a day to update... Seems like there should be a 'soft' on there. I was hoping maybe Dep_tx had just pointed the way to generate a lot of 'softs' and start knocking off some of the 'hards' through attrition. If we can figger this out, will we be ileete?

I did not know you could delete your worthknowing account. You're absolutely right...it worked :)

Will the "worthknowing" report contain the actual Transunion score?

worth knowing doesn't have your TU score, just some lame 1-100 score system of their own. and no pulling from worth knowing dosent put a soft on your TU.

It sure shows up on my TU report, as an account review.

In my experience, 99% of the time the correct answer is 'none of the above apply'...
