What's up with Eq's R5 and R9 rates

I had a settled tradeline listed on my report as still in chargeoff status with a balance (R9).
I disputed this account and now it shows up as a paid collection, which for me still sucks, but its better than settled chargeoff.
My question is in the rate/status column it says, "At least 120 days or more than for payments past due" which I guess is an R5. Well that doesn't really describe my status. There is no balance listed on this account how can I be 120 days past due? I then looked at all the status choices in the status chart and NONE of them fit my description. The only positive one on the list was "pays as agreed" which also makes the account seem open and current.

Will this R5 rating make it seem like I'm currently 120 days past due on a tradeline when it comes to calculating the FICO, even though the balance on this account is zero?

What have you all done in this situation?

    Thanks
    Luke

    Luke,

I'm disputing a tradeline right now thats a -0- balance and an R5 rating. I approached it from the "how can $0.00 be past due?" Results aren't due back until the 4th.

    Hey Luke,

The answer to your question is, yes, it will affect your FICO score when being calculated. If it's NOT an R1 or I1, I would strive to get the tradeline updated to an R1 or I1,
Or get the whole tradeline deleted altogether if you can.

I agree with Bay, get that if all possible changed. I have an account I fight EXP with monthly, RNB-Marshall Fields, it goes from Charged off, to Included in BK I lose 10 pts evertime it drops to Charge Off status; however once it's changed back to Included in BK, up 10 pts I go.

    Hey Luke,

I will give you and Idea of what happened in my situation. I had a Sears charge-card that was charged-off AND had a few late payments, I basically screamed at them and got some assistance from the AG (Attorney General). I was orginally trying to GET rid of the tradeline, but, Sears....(unbelievable) changed it from and R9 to and R1 with no late payments. Hey, I will take it....LOL!!

Sometimes, things don't turn out the way you plan, they may turn out better......:)

Can you please let us know what steps you took to make this happen. I too have a Sears charege off that I need to take care of. RMA has even reaged it 8 months. I trying to figure out my best course of action.
