I had a 3 times, 60 days late that came off of Equifax & Experian after I disputed but stayed on TU for 2 months! Everytime I called they would say 'It's still in dispute.' Yet they never sent me a verification letter or marked it in dispute on my report. I finally called and threatened to sue since they were violating the federal time limit for validation. They corrected it but they marked those 3 dates as 'no data received'. I don't care what they marked it as as long as it doesn't say 3 times, 60 days late anymore. I hope I never have to deal with TU again. TU SUX!!! =)
My most difficult derogs are a CH13, Sears and MBNA. They just verify and verify and verify like the Everready Bunny. If I could get them off my EXP I would have NO derogs there at all. I am also having problems with Equifiction. Arrow Financial requested a DELETE of their trade line, I disputed in March 2003, they took 4 months to "investigate" and then said Arrow verified in July 2003. I have a settlement contract signed by Arrow dated April 2003 where they agreed to delete in return for not being sued. I also have the UDF Arrow sent to Equifax in May 2003 requesting deletion. I also have a letter from Arrow dated after Equifax's letter saying Arrow verified saying Equifax never contacted them about the dispute and had they been contacted either manually or electronically, their files would show no account in my name. Equifax just won't take a derog trade line off, no matter WHO asks for it.
Re: Re: What's your most stubborn negative? No ITS yet - this is going to be a lot more expensive for them than $1000. I know someone else they are doing exactly the same thing to and I'm waiting for him to get all his documentation in order so the two of us can file a major suit for fraudulent noncompliance with FCRA and seek punitive damages
Re: Re: What's your most stubborn negative? depends on the report: EXP= Sears, First Premier mainly b/c they do automatic verification... TU= JCP. Been working on all of these since the dawn of time (so it seems).
Re: Re: What's your most stubborn negative? First of all, some of those derogs had been deleted by the time we got into some decent score ranges. My DH's TU score shot to 841 as soon as the last derog was gone. He now has a clean report with an 841 score. When there was one derog, it was significantly lower, but I can't recall exactly how much. He is down to 1 derog on EQ and has a decent score that hovers in the low to mid 700's. The problem is that the one derog is a reaged Chase card going back to late 2002. Wrong, wrong wrong! It probably is a blessing in disguise. This way we have reason to push Chase/EQF for truly erroneous reporting, not just a SPAM dispute. The best thing I can tell you about score from our experience is this: 1. The last derog has the biggest impact on score. My CH13 was deleted from EXP with 10 "included in" accounts left. My score went up 6 points. 2. As those derogs age, your score will go up slowly on its own for "good behavior" I assume. You want to distance yourself from the negatives in time as much as possible. 3. Inquiries made a pretty decent score increase for us once they were all gone. 4. We both had lots and lots and lots of extremely good credit before the atomic bomb of the bk 2.5 years ago. I think that is why you are seeing very high TU scores (and I know that they aren't worth much). He has no derogs and 8 pages front and back of great credit pre-bk. 5. As far as the bk's, I truly believe they are a crap shot. You are just as likely to get them off as you are any other derog. Just keep plugging away at it. We are down to the bk reporting on only 1 CRA now. Good luck. Let us know how you do!
Wow...havent read this post in a while... Amazing update... Lost the bk from eq and tu...now Im bk free, lol... The first premier thing WAS solved...until I closed my positive account and they spanked me for doing so by taking my account from an r1 to an r3...working on that one now. FMC is gone after a few rounds and ITS. As for hubby, he's down to one cc charge off...one that the other 2 have deleted (crap1). Not sure how to handle this one...they have violated a C&D...not sure if this would be enough leverage for deletion. Funny...one tends to forget that overtime we make progress...it was good to see that in reading this thread.
Nik, can you explain a little about FMC and ITS. (I'm off to look up ITS all by myself, though. I think I can figure that one out). Stubborns for me are divorce-related late pays in FMC (now paid) and Wells Fargo (now paid). FMC is downright rude about it. They seem to be a tough nut.

My most stubborn negative is an old house mortgage with many late payments, part of my post-marital breakup financial blues...its paid, I had to negotiate a compromise sale with the mortgage lender. (Hubby died unexpectedly a year and a half after the breakup, we weren't divorced yet) Long story....anyways its due to fall off my credit reports in late 2004 or early 2005. Its only on my Experian report.
Hiya! FMC was reporting a BK (ex filed, not me) and there happened to be a class action suit against the 3 cra's for reporting bk on those who didnt file, but were linked to accounts were someone else did! FMC never did a thing about it...they kept verifying no matter what. SO, I sent ITS to tu...after speaking w/ a special handling person, they budged,,,and took 2 other collections that were ex's as well that showed BK off as well. It was pretty cool to finally be done with those dill-weeds. BUT...fmc NEVER put forth any effort. Focus on a way to get the cra to budge if you have no luck w/ fmc.
