Has anyone every applied over the phone or in person for a credit card and asked the rep "What CRA will you check?" in order to find this out in advance. Do they give out that kind of information?

I have checked all the creditor/CRA lists (creditnet, millcbs, creditmania) and NONE have the same information for any one card so it is impossible to use them. I suspect the reason that no 2 are the same info has to do with geogragraphic reasons but still they are of little use toward their intended purpose.

    Any information would be appreciated.

GOod idea. B/c my credit has a blotch, I actually ask what has to happen post BK to get credit with them. If I generally meet those criteria, I apply. If not, I don't.

I've only been declined 2 times and approved 10 times. It works. Course, you generally get the guidelines of a creditor on this board too ;)

    Dave,

I was going to apply for a student card over the phone (can't remember off hand which one) and asked the operator which CRA they pull. She told me that she doesn't know because they are just taking the application for the creditor. That's all they do. Take the application.

So, if my experience helps you any...

I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT CREDIT REPORTING AGENCIES SOMETIME HAVE "SALES" ON THEIR CREDIT REPORTS...SO JUST BECAUSE A CREDIT CARD PULLED EQUIFAX LAST TIME, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THEY WILL PULL IT AGAIN.

THERE IS NO LOGIC TO CREDIT REPORTING AGENCIES, AND ALSO NO LOGIC TO CREDIT CARD COMPANIES.

IT IS JUST A GUESSING GAME.
