I sent out some not mine letters and equifax responded with asking me to ID my self. When does the 30 days start? when the originally signed for the disputes or once they recieve the proof they asked for? Thanks

Chances are good that *IF* you do send them proof of who you are, you are giving them another 15 days to investigate.

The 30 days begins when they received the dispute, however, if you provide any 'relevant' information to a pending investigation, then they can add an extra 15 days to it.

Ok so do I not send the info to them or will that mean they dont have to investigate? It really isnt new relevant info it will exactly what i sent in the begining same soc# and well the ID will be same name and address so they already had that info.
