It is legal, and it can be illegal. You have to be more specific. Before or after validation? Have you ever heard from them?
Jlynn, I got a letter from a CA CPS on March the 7th sent a validation letter to them on March the 9th, pulled my EQ report yesterday and on May 29th they pulled a Hard on my EQ report have seen nothing in the way of Validation, and yesterday they called here to collect twice did not even Identify themselves as a CA nothing ........how many violations do I have them on now?
LOL no two different people Jlynn I just read his post and thought I would ask u my question sorry about the confusion.
When was the validation letter signed for? Mar 29 - if they had received letter - violation phone calls - violation all would be continued collection activity. Many are stating that if you sue them - no matter the number of violations the amount is still $1000 max for damages.
They pulled an inquiry before I validated them, so from what I'm understanding from your post it is legal?
So is it $1000 per violation or $1000 total? (Just wondering because CA just pulled my TU and EXP reports, AFTER signing for my val. letter)
there r some court case decisions that have federal courts siding with $1,000 for each violations let me see if I can find that ...........maybe lizzardking can help on this I don't know
Re: Re: When is it legal for CA to pull Yes. A CA can still attempt to collect after SOL has run out, you just have no obligation to pay.
