i'm fairly new to this board, and I just a few questions. when sending a debt validation to either OC or CA with CRRR, after receiving green card back. what kinda of dispute letters do you send to CRAs. do you go as "not mine" or as "incorrect balance"? please reply back.........
I'm pretty new to this as well, but I think I can safely say that once you "dispute balance", you have just verified the debt as yours to the CRA. I believe "not mine" is the proper response. Others can feel free to correct me if necessary! Xavernus
Suppose your CR says you owe $100. You say: "I have never had a debt with ABC co. for $100". 1) You're not lying 2) You are disputing 3) They don't know whether your disputing the amount, the debts validity, or both. 4) It cannot ever be said that you filed a false statement. Let's get creative around here gang. Oh - and welcome to the board. .
Ok, I am very new here - Butch, why is it not lying, if indeed you DO have a debt with ABC company for $100? Please don't take this as rude, just wondering??
1*Do you go as "not mine" or as "incorrect balance"? please reply back......... cexume | 2*Butch, why is it not lying, if indeed you DO have a debt with ABC company for $100? adoptolder =========================== 1*If the CA don't validate then the claim is invalid. An unproven debt means there is no legal debt to collect. Since there is no legal debt you dispute as not mine. If you dispute as incorrect balance the you are contradicting the CAs information that indicates there is no legal debt and you have just undone the results of the validation letter you sent to the Ca. 2*Because the CA by not validating has just confirmed that you do not have a legal debt owed to ABC Co. for any amount $100 or otherwise.
because nothing is certain until they've validated it if i say that you owe me $100.00, does that actually mean that you do, until i show proof that you do in fact owe me $100.00? the $100.00 could include fees that they aren't entitled to under law, could be a billing error, etc. Or an even more 'insulated' dispute. "I have no memory of any alleged account with ABC Co." You aren't saying that the account truely is not yours, you just are saying that you have no memory of any account with ABC Co. Do you remember every company that you've done business with in the past 7 years? Most people would have a hard time remembering every company that they've done business with in the past week, or month, let lone, years ago.
"I have never had a debt with ABC co. for $100". vs. "I have no memory of a debt with ABC co. for $100." I like the 2nd one better myself but I can see it would be more forceful to state the first. Both are clearly not true anyway, but I guess if it gets the job done. That's the mindset you have to have, right, along with well, if they can't provide the information I need, then I DON'T have a debt with them. OK, my question has been answered. Thank you!
Sure that's fine Holly. What I mean is that if you examine a TL carefully, you'll find "something" wrong with it. Use that. .
That's the mindset you have to have, right, along with well, 1*If they can't provide the information I need, then I DON'T have a legal debt with them. Holly ============== 1*You're not lying when you dispute as not mine because you are saying I have no legal debt with ABC Co. because in fact you do not have a legal debt with them. Since you don't have a legal debt you can't be lying.
